New hires Happel and Peterson add depth and expertise to company’s physical security capabilities

Parallel Technologies has expanded its physical security capabilities with the addition of Walt Happel as Physical Security Solutions Engineer and Kenton Peterson as Physical Security Pre-Sales Design Engineer.

Both Walt (Happel) and Kenton (Peterson) bring a wealth of industry knowledge with them to Parallel Technologies and they will help elevate our practice, paving the way for future growth.”

Parallel Technologies’ physical security offering is part of the company’s Intelligent Building business. Leveraging IP-enabled solutions, Parallel Technology develops and implements solutions that allow companies to benefit from the efficiency of the network. The solutions are used for notifications, search and the communication of vital information quickly through multiple venues. Solutions offered include: IP Video Surveillance, IP Video Surveillance Software, Buglar, Physical Access Control, Emergency Notification Systems and system interoperability.

In his role as Physical Security Solutions Engineer, Happel creates the necessary drawings and documents for the installation teams to follow and manages project change orders. Happel rejoins Parallel Technologies following more than five years at Advanced Wireless Communications where he held a number of positions. Prior to his departure, he was Director of Systems Engineering and was responsible for overseeing the implementation and operations for  on-site wireless systems for a wide-range of organizations. Following his graduation from St. Paul Technical School, Happel joined CEC (which was acquired by Parallel Technologies in 1998) as a Journeyman/Technician and was responsible for the successful installation of cabling, wireless antennas and other systems essential for building operations. Happel is a resident of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota.

As Physical Security Pre-Sales Design Engineer, Petersonworks with clients to define the goals and objectives of the security engagement and help shape the company’s Physical Security solutions offerings. Prior to joining Parallel Technologies, he was the Director of Integration Partners/Technology Partner Program at Oncam, a leader in IP video and technology. In this role, he worked with VMS/NVR integration partners to maintain and build upon current integrations. He also expanded the partner program to grow Oncam’s presence in the IP video surveillance industry. As Director of Integrations at Oncam he served as the liaison with VMS/NVR companies that integrated with or desired to integrate with the company’s dewarping SDK. Earlier in his career, Peterson held a number of positions at Connex International/Milestone Systems, a global leader in IP video management software and surveillance solutions. Peterson in a resident of Carver, Minn. He earned an Associate degree from Brown College in Minneapolis.
