Kim Baumgartner had the honor of presenting to the Greater St. Paul Chapter of BOMA (Building Owners & Management Association) on Wednesday, May 25th.

The topic was How “Smart” is your building and what is the difference between ordinary buildings and “smart” buildings. He covered IoT (The Internet of Things) and how prominent technology companies such as Intel, Cisco, HPE, IBM and Dell are major players in this market. He also discussed how new business teams are now being formed that include Operations Departments combined with Information Technology to deliver an IoT model that is providing predictive and prescriptive analytics. The new teams create an overall more efficient building and environment. Kim covered the top reasons for the change in the traditional model that included, New value from legacy assets, Actionable analytics, increased efficiency saving money, and the ability to create new revenue streams.
